20th Anniversary of Priesthood of Bishop Kazimir Velikoselets

On June 13 in the old church of the Holy Trinity in Ishkaldz (the region of Baranavichy) took place the solemnity dedicated to the 20th anniversary of priesthood of His Excellence Kazimir Velikoselets, Auxiliary Bishop of the diocese of Pinsk. The parish of the Holy Trinity in Ishkaldz, of which the dean he became in 1984, was the first one in his priestly life.

In the celebratory Holy Mass took part: F. Thaddeus Volos, dean of the deanery of Baranavichy, F. Igor Lashuk, dean of the parish of St. John the Baptist in Minsk, Stanislav Buko, head of the committee for religion and nationalities, as well as numerous believers from the parishes where F. Kazimir ever worked.

While opening the solemnity F. Macej Shmytovski, dean of the parish, greeted the Bishop, gave thanks for the years of his self-denying work in the parish of Ishkaldz and expressed the hope that His Excellence would celebrate also his silver jubilee in the church where he had celebrated his first Holy Mass.

The homily, pronounced by F. Igor Lashuk who served as ministrant during the first years of F. Kazimir’s priesthood, was dedicated to Christian sanctity as well as to the problem of human sin and the power of God’s grace acting in the souls of believers.

After the Holy Mass His Excellence was congratulated by priests and numerous parishioners as well as by Alina Novikava, head of the publishing house Pro Christo.

At the end Bishop Kazimir addressed to people encouraging them to prayer and aspiration for sanctity the necessary part of which is the purity of soul. His Excellence underlined that Christ is the source of joy, love, wisdom and sanctity, and on this foundation one should build his life.
