Ecumenism is the main idea as well as the first and the most important aim of the festival. With the help of music and culture we long for the unity of faith. Participation of Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant performers undoubtedly serves the aim. Taking part in the Liturgy of different rites strengthens and richens the faith of Christians in their aspiration to serve cultures and traditions of different peoples as well as to “build bridges” uniting Europe on the ground of Christianity. This is the especial chance of common activity and creation of spiritual climate of solidarity and collaboration.
There were the honorary guests on the festival: F. Henryk Jagodzinski, acting Apostolic Nuncio in Belarus; F. Joseph Kubitsky, director of Polish organization for help to the Eastern Church; Martin Bushermule, representative of Renovabis from Germany; Filaret, Orthodox Exarch of Belarus and Metropolitan of Minsk-Slutsk; Sofonij, Orthodox priest in Mohilev.
This year in the festival there took part professional and amateur, parish and youth choirs, singers and guests from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Moldavia, Germany, United States and other countries. On the whole there were 800 participants including 22 choirs from 8 countries of the world.
